How I Can Help
Supporting Children to Feel Safe, Understood and Confident
Every child has their own story.
Sometimes that story includes anxiety, overwhelm, big emotions, difficulties with friendships, challenges at school, or experiences that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves or others.
At Evolving Minds Therapy, I provide child-centred counselling and therapeutic play for children and adolescents, while working closely with parents and caregivers to create lasting change beyond the therapy room.
My approach is grounded in the belief that behaviour is communication, relationships are the foundation for healing, and every child deserves to feel understood.
Individual Therapy Sessions
Parent and Family Support
Therapy is tailored to your child's unique strengths, needs and developmental stage.

Children often communicate through play long before they can explain their feelings with words. Through play, creativity, movement and conversation, they can safely explore emotions, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships and develop lifelong emotional skills.
Sessions may support children experiencing:
-
Anxiety and excessive worry
-
Emotional outbursts or frequent meltdowns
-
Difficulty managing big feelings
-
Low self-esteem or confidence
-
Friendship and social challenges
-
School-related stress
-
Family separation or significant life changes
-
Trauma or adverse experiences
-
Autism and ADHD alongside emotional wellbeing needs
-
Emotional regulation and resilience
Rather than focusing on changing behaviour alone, we work to understand what your child's behaviour is communicating and build the emotional foundations that support lasting wellbeing.
Parents are the most important people in a child's life. That's why therapy doesn't stop when the session ends.

I work alongside parents and caregivers to better understand their child's emotional world and develop practical ways to strengthen connection at home.

Together we explore:
-
Understanding what behaviour may be communicating
-
Responding to big emotions with confidence
-
Strengthening attachment and connection
-
Supporting emotional regulation at home
-
Navigating neurodiversity with greater understanding
-
Creating routines and environments that support your child's wellbeing
When parents feel more confident, children often feel safer too.
School Colaboration and Advocacy
Children do best when the important adults in their lives are working together. With your consent, I collaborate with teachers, schools and other professionals to build consistent support across home, school and therapy.
This may include:
-
Teacher consultation
-
Classroom strategies
-
Sensory and environmental recommendations
-
Collaborative planning meetings
-
Support during school transitions
-
Advocacy for appropriate accommodations
My background in education allows me to bridge the gap between therapeutic understanding and the realities of the classroom.
Every family's journey is different. Some children need support through a difficult season. Others benefit from longer-term therapy that helps them develop emotional resilience over time.

Together, we'll develop a plan that reflects your child's goals, strengths and individual needs.
Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, emotional regulation, neurodivergence, trauma, school challenges or family transitions, my aim is the same: To help your child feel safe, understood and confident in who they are.
